DRAFT: Journals for Educators

#1

What teachers should read

If you are a teacher, or are planning to be one, here is the list of journals that are likely to be of interest to you. Most are connected with a subject-matter teacher association, that is, organizations like the National Council of Teachers of Math (or English), or the National Science Teachers Association. Most of these organizations have reduced rates for students (e.g., NSTA is $39/year). In addition to journals, these organizations have conferences, which can be a fun way to find out more about teaching.

You should choose at least two of these journals that seem interesting to you and read through the tables of contents of the last year’s worth of issues. You should read abstracts of at least ten articles to get an idea about what those in your field care about.
